Occupying an enviable position within one of Winscombe's most desirable developments, this exceptional four-bedroom detached home combines beautifully proportioned accommodation with a notably high standard of presentation, a private south-facing garden and far-reaching views towards the Mendip Hills.
The property has been meticulously maintained and offers a level of finish rarely found in modern family homes. The interiors are light-filled and elegant throughout, with generous room proportions, a carefully considered layout and quality fixtures and fittings evident across every floor.
The reception hall creates an inviting first impression and leads to a superb sitting room, where a large bay window draws in natural light. A separate study provides an ideal home-working environment, while a cloakroom and well-appointed utility room add further practicality to the ground floor accommodation.
The open-plan kitchen/dining room is a particularly impressive space, designed for both everyday family life and entertaining. Contemporary cabinetry, extensive preparation surfaces and integrated appliances are complemented by excellent storage and generous dining space. Large windows and glazed bifolding doors maximise natural light, enjoy attractive open views, and create a seamless connection with the garden beyond.
On the first floor, the sense of space continues. The principal bedroom benefits from far-reaching views towards the Mendip Hills and a beautifully finished en-suite shower room, while a second double bedroom benefits from fitted wardrobes and its own en-suite shower room. Two further double bedrooms, both benefiting from fitted wardrobes, are served by an equally well-appointed family bathroom. The quality of finish within the bathrooms and en-suites reflects the standard seen throughout the house, with modern sanitaryware, stylish tiling and a timeless, contemporary aesthetic.
Outside, the south-facing rear garden is a standout feature. Professionally landscaped and enjoying an excellent degree of privacy, it provides an attractive and versatile outdoor space with well-defined seating areas and lawn, perfectly positioned to enjoy sunshine throughout the day.
The property also benefits from driveway parking and an integral garage.
What we love about the property... A distinguished family home of genuine quality, offering generous accommodation, exceptional presentation and an enviable village setting.
Situation: The North Somerset village of Winscombe was recently placed as the second best place in Britain to raise a family by family investment firm OneFamily (survey in 2015) and is nestled in the beautiful Mendip countryside within commuting distance of Bristol. Its atmosphere is one of bustling activity, with a variety of shops, professional offices and community facilities including church, doctor and primary school (www.winscombewoodborough.n-somerset.sch.uk). Winscombe is in the Churchill Academy and Sixth Form Centre (www.churchill-academy.org) catchment area for secondary education, which has recently been awarded 'Outstanding' by Ofsted and also benefits from a modern sports complex, and there is also a dry ski slope nearby. Private sector schooling is also close by at Sidcot and the Downs School at Wraxall is within easy reach. Country activities available within the area include horse-riding, walking on the Mendips and sailing on Axbridge Reservoir, and there are also several excellent golf courses in the area. The lovely cathedral city of Wells is a drive away, as is the famous beauty spot, Cheddar Gorge. As mentioned, Winscombe is within commuting distance of Bristol but also has good access to the seaside town of Weston-super-Mare and the M5 at junction 21 to travel north or junction 22 to travel south. There is an international airport at Lulsgate and access to a mainline railway station at Weston.
Directions: Approaching Winscombe from the direction of Bristol on the A38 Bridgwater Road, turn right at the traffic lights towards the village on Sidcot Lane and proceed ahead for approximately 200 metres taking the second left onto 'The Chestnuts'. Once on 'The Chestnuts' follow the road around to the left around the bend and continue where number 22 can be found on your right hand side. What3Words: ///students.mediate.daffodils
