Debbie Fortune Estate Agents, with three offices in the country area south of Bristol are fully prepared and ahead of the game once restrictions are relaxed and the property market gets back to normal.
Managing Director, Lisa Chaplin comments…
‘We are unique in our local patch because we have many knowledgeable property professionals with years of experience who have witnessed and worked through many upturns and downturns in the housing market over the years .Whilst this pandemic is unique, we are not deterred. In fact, we are more determined than ever to help our clients find their next home.’
She adds, ’ During our daily conference calls, the consensus from our clients is that something is shifting in the way people are seeing the future and we believe this will continue well after the lockdown is lifted, and in a surprisingly good way.
For instance, many people are working effectively from home. Parents are spending time with their children, they are cooking from scratch and teaching new skills that cannot be taught in school.
There is much more connectivity in our community, and we are making new friends in our neighbourhood.
We are all looking out for our neighbours more and thanking the NHS with loud claps on the street. Whilst social distancing is taking place, social interaction by other means is on the rise and village communities, properties with gardens and roomy town houses are looking an increasingly attractive opportunity to buyers.
Debbie adds, ‘This is the third property recession I have had to work through, the first in the late 1980’s, the second in 2008 and now this.
The one thing I know is that we will return to normal and my experience tells me that bricks and mortar are still the best investment we can make. An interesting feature now though is that we have a huge number of new potential buyers looking to move out of congested cities to the country and that is where we come in.
We live and work in a fabulously beautiful part of the country.
Whichever part of the Chew Valley, the Yeo Valley, Somerset, the Mendips or North Somerset we live in, we can walk only a mile and find ourselves in a bluebell filled woodland, a beach, or looking out on a beautiful lake.
We also know these areas like the back of our hand. Whether it is the local schools and local shopping, social and recreational amenities, the community events like village fetes, or those superb local businesses, pubs, tradespeople and churches that really make a village a home, we have first-hand knowledge to pass to your buyers and this is the kind of information they need from a traditional, local estate agent.’
Debbie Fortune Estate Agents have built up a superb network of contacts, not only through business but through their charity and community work over the years and there is rarely a house that Debbie has not visited or sold within the past 40, yes, 40 years. That level of experience is unrivalled and cannot be challenged by any other local Agents.
Debbie adds…
‘During these unprecedented times your house move plans may be on temporary hold, but we are not, and we are ready to help you any way we can! One way we can help get you started is to visit your home in a virtual valuation. Here, with your smart phone, you can walk us round your home , and we can tell you about our services , discuss your needs and onward move and arrive at a provisional figure to give you an idea, which we can then firm up on once we can visit you in person. This is a really practical way we can help you and get you on the road to your new home.’
‘So, enjoy your gardens, touch up any of those little D.I.Y jobs you have been meaning to do, clear out the cupboards, and get ready for your next move.
We assure you, your new buyer will appreciate the time you spent in lockdown and the efforts you make now and it may not seem like it but manicuring that garden will make a difference and hopefully a buyer will show it by putting in an offer!!
