This week our co-owner and director Neil Drejer, was incredibly fortunate and honoured to be invited to visit the Great Western Air ambulance base in Almondsbury, with Ian Sheppard of the Congresbury Community cafe.
The invitation was in recognition of the fundraising efforts both Debbie Fortune Estate Agents and the Cafe have made to support this incredibly important charity in recent times.
Funded entirely by donations, the Air ambulance cost approximately £4,000,000 a year to run and keep its critical care paramedics, pilots and staff on call for us when we need them most. They attend on average 4 to 5 calls a day, are available 24/7, with not only a fully equipped helicopter, but also rapid response vehicles to attend incidents where a helicopter landing could be difficult.
These men and women often risk their own lives putting themselves in situations, and at scenes that we can’t even imagine. We all pray that we, and our friends and family will never be in need of their help, but god forbid we do, I can tell you we would be in safe hands.
Without donations the Great Western Air Ambulance would not exist, so please visit the website and read first hand about the amazing work they do, and if you can, dig deep and donate, and let’s all make sure they can keep flying and providing the vital service they do for many years to come.
