The new decade marks a new era for local award winning firm with major promotions for senior members of staff.
Debbie takes up the story,

‘I am absolutely delighted to announce this year’s roll of honour in the company…with major promotions at all of our departments.’

‘This follows our strategy of promoting from within and growing our staff in terms of their skill sets and the ethos of our company, and proves that if you work hard and are successful you have a bright future with Debbie Fortune Estate Agents!’

‘ So, from January 1st 2020 Lisa Chaplin , currently a Director of the company and head of our Lettings and Management Department, has been appointed our Managing Director and we wish her every success in her role!’

Lisa said………

“Since starting my career in estate agency in 1992, Debbie’s name and reputation has always stood head and shoulders above other agents. Those were the early days prior to the internet and one of the local, traditional estate agent. Your agent would help you with all aspects of selling your home. Along with the progression of portals available now, I am happy to say that this tradition still stands today at Debbie Fortune Estate Agents.
Following a sabbatical to raise my children, there really wasn’t another agent I wanted to work for.

I am so very proud to be part of a company with such long standing, highly trained staff and to continue carrying the ethos of great customer service from knowledgeable, enthusiastic and conscientious professionals.

We are, of course, also striving to raise even more money for charity, support our local communities and continue to be the market leaders in our field”. I am looking forward to seeing what the market brings us in 2020 and to working alongside my fellow management team and board of directors”.

Assisting Lisa on the Board of Directors is another familiar face, Neil Drejer. Neil joined the company from Savills in Bath in autumn 2016 and currently manages the Congresbury office for the company.

‘Neil is a perfect fit for the company, ‘said Debbie, ‘his professional approach, his attention to detail and his customer service is exceptional. One of his many responsibilities this decade, will be to look after and develop all our fund raising activities, which this year have raised some £13,500 for local worthy causes, bringing our total since we opened to almost £130,000! He aims to beat this in the next decade at the same time as his responsibilities as Branch Manager and Director, and I am sure he will make an excellent job of all three roles!’

Neil said, when joining the company some three years ago Debbie gave me a clear vision of the direction in which she wanted the company to go, and how I could play a part in it. The desires, ethos and aspirations of the company align directly with my own and becoming a Director allows me to ensure that our core values remain as strong as ever. We are blessed to live and work in a wonderful part of the country, Debbie Fortune are the epitome of a traditional local agent who are part of the community and care and invest in it at every opportunity. Debbie has worked tirelessly for the past 10 years building an exceptional brand and business that I couldn’t be prouder to be a part of.

There’s been a familiar face at our Chew Magna Office since he joined the company 6 years ago, he is George Worle and he has been promoted to Branch Manager.

George said ……..

“I am delighted to have been promoted to Branch Manager! I love being able to work in the Chew Valley, it’s an area that I know so well having gone to school and grown up here. I am constantly overwhelmed by the support of our community and I am very keen to ensure that we continue to support the local schools, sports clubs, society’s and village community’s as we always have done. I cannot wait to see what the next decade has in store for the property market in the Chew Valley, these are exciting times!”

George has also been invited to be an Associate Director at the company.

Debbie explains, ‘George has had an amazingly successful year as Market Appraisal Negotiator and we are delighted with his attitude and success.

An Associate Directorship will enable George to further understand the running of a large business like ours, and we wish him every success at the start of a new decade.’

‘Lastly but by no means least ‘…says Debbie, ‘David Williams takes up the role of Market Appraisal Manager at Backwell Office. This prominent and superbly positioned office goes from strength to strength and we see a bright future for David and his team at Backwell, ably supported by our network of offices and our superb senior management team!’

Kathryn Miller has also been promoted to Assistant Manager in Lettings, having joined us straight from school, 6 years ago; I wish Kathryn and David every success in their new roles.’
